House Hunters Recap: Butting Heads in Nashville

House Hunters Daniel and Jessica have recently moved from Chicago to Nashville, so now they need a home that combines their styles, and provides some extra space for income. The couple met about four years ago at a party, and they have been married for a year and a half. For the last two years, Daniel traveled from Chicago to Nashville for work. Now Daniel and Jessica want to settle down in Nashville.

He has some relatives in North Carolina, so it feels like more of a homecoming with this move. Due to the move, Jessica is unemployed, so Daniel and her want their new home to have a rental unit, which shouldn’t be impossible with their $500,000 budget.

Home #1 is a craftsman style home. Their real estate agent lets Daniel and Jessica know that a loft style home will be nearly impossible to find in Nashville, so Daniel gives up the dream of his industrial style home. It has three bedrooms, and two and a half bathrooms.

It has nice hardwood floor throughout, except the master bedroom. This place doesn’t have a rental unit, and the backyard isn’t big enough for them to add a rental unit.

House #2, $370,000

This house is about 15 minutes away from downtown. The style is more traditional, and it’s oddly positioned right behind another home. This place does have the rental unit but it’s unfinished. It has many of Jessica and Daniel’s checklist items, like hardwood flooring and a deck.

This house is close to the highway so they can hear traffic as they stand outside. It’s about four bedrooms, and three and half bathrooms. The master bathroom is a lot smaller than they want.
