HGTV in April will bring us a new season of Flipping Virgins and a companion show to Fixer Upper called Fixer Upper: Behind the Design.
Flipping Virgins, hosted by Egypt Sherrod premieres Monday, April 2 at 9 PM. In Flipping Virgins, Egypt takes on novice house flippers as she guides them through the ins and outs of the buying and selling business, making sure they learn how to maximize their profits.
“The world of flipping can be an emotional rollercoaster, and that is especially true for first time flippers dreaming of big time profit,” Egypt said. “Your success or failure is determined upfront by finding the right house at the right price. That’s where I come in.”
In the premiere episode, Egypt will take on a classic craftsman bungalow in the bustling East Atlanta area where rookie flippers, Melody and Michelle, need help to turn out a profitable first flip. Moldy appliances, a faulty foundation and water damage are just a few obstacles the longtime friends must overcome while transforming the rundown charmer. Relying on Egypt’s expertise, guidance and a whole lot of sweat equity, they will work together to modernize the dilapidated home while preserving its classic craftsman character.
“With more than 16 years of successful flipping under my belt, I am here to hold their hand through the rocky moments and navigate them away from rookie mistakes, so they learn how to make a profitable flip every time,” added Egypt.
Starting Tuesday, April 10 at 8 PM, Fixer Upper fans can get even more Chip and Joanna Gaines when HGTV premieres Fixer Upper: Behind the Design. This companion show will give viewers a never-before-seen look at the coveted design secrets featured in the show.
The new 15-episode series will highlight how Joanna creates breathtaking designs—from strategy to staging—in each stunning overhaul. Super fans of Fixer Upper can expect to see rooms that were not included in original episodes of the series.
“I can’t wait to show our fans how every piece of the design comes together before the final reveal,” Joanna said. “I want to nail every detail so that, when we walk away, Chip and I know we’ve given a family the one-of-a-kind home of their dreams.”
“Jo puts her heart and soul into every fixer upper we design,” added Chip. “Our hope is that these homes become a beautiful part of each family’s next chapter.”
