Flip or Flop Vegas Season 2 Episode 11 Recap: 1980s Golf Club Home

For this episode of Flip or Flop Vegas, Aubrey and Bristol play some golf before renovating a home. We’re in for a strange episode with ceiling mirrors and iron tubs. While on the golf course, Aubrey tells Bristol that she received a call from a buyer who wants to sell his home to them for $320,000. The home just happens to be in a golf community.

Upon seeing the place, Aubrey and Bristol are already wowed by the stellar condition of the place. It just needs updating. The home looks like 1980s dream; thankfully, Aubrey and Bristol know just how to take it into 2018.

Aubrey quickly decides to remove the wall that separates the kitchen and the dining and living rooms. This expands the kitchen and makes it more inviting. Aubrey also tells Bristol that she wants to add closet space to the designated den area, so that it can possibly become a third bedroom.

The guest bathroom needs the most updating. Aubrey plans to gut the entire thing and start over. Next, they plan to re-plaster and add new tiles to the pool area.

After seeing all the work that needs to be done, they put in an offer of $310,000 for the home. The owner counters with $315,000, and they accept. The first issue Bristol’s crew encounters is that some of the beams holding up the walls, can’t be removed. This hurts Aubrey’s design plans a little, but she finds a way to work around it.

They decide to go with a black and white color scheme with natural wood being placed throughout. Aubrey’s theme for this one is country fam house. The second major problem they face is whether they believe the $400 a month Homeowner Association Fee (HOA)–which covers community fees and amenties– will chase people away from buying the home.

It takes Bristol’s crew a little over a month to finish the renovations. Per usual, the couple go over budget a little. They spend an additional $26,500 on renovations ($1,500 more than their original budget goal).

The little extra money they spent for remodeling this place seems to pay off. The end result was this gorgeous rustic home with modern and classic flare. This was definitely one of our favorite designs on the show.
