Aubrey and Bristol had two weeks to spare so Aubrey decided to bid $92,000 on a one bedroom, one bathroom condo. She won the bid and lets Bristol know they better get to work. Oh, and she’s only seen photos of the place.
Will this Vegas condo Flip or Flop? We’ll soon find out.
The couple goes to see what Aubrey has gotten them into this time. After seeing how small the place is and what a terrible floor plan it has going on, Aubrey is faced with some buyer’s remorse, which is something that most never happens to her.
Don’t worry about Aubrey, though, she has a remedy for what ails her: GOLD. She will just make everything GOLD. Gold, gold, gold. Seriously, all of her plans call for something gold. Hey, at least it’s Vegas.
Aubrey thinks they really need a lot of wow factor to get the place to sell in the $140,000 range. They plan to spend $10,000 on renovations, so that would but them at around a $32,000 budget.
It doesn’t take long into the demolition for Aubrey’s buyer’s remorse to start fading away. She’s too busy focusing on gold. She wants gold ceilings, gold tile, gold decor and … are you sitting down? … gold grout. I’m not kidding. She wants gold grout on the bathroom floor.
Bristol thinks her gold grout idea is crazy, but she goes for it. She literally puts what looks like craft glitter in the grout. What else have they done? It’s time to find out at the big reveal.
The condo looks 100 percent better, but it is a bit tacky. OK, I’m being polite. It looks A LOT tacky. There’s just way too much gold. They think it screams rich, but to me it screams cheap gold spray paint. No way would I buy a one bedroom, one bathroom condo with gold on every surface.
I do like the gold tile backsplash in the kitchen, but I think all the other gold is just too much. And when I say they carried it all the way through, THEY CARRIED IT ALL THE WAY THROUGH. Even the bedroom door is painted gold. The grout isn’t as bad as i thought, I must confess, but only because there’s so much other gold all over the place. I just can’t deal with this.
Since my opinion doesn’t matter, let’s find out what the real estate brokers think. They all clerkly think it’s too much gold also. One of them even says gold is not something someone will ever ask for. They do think it’s OK for them to list the condo at $140,000-145,000, though.
To be fair, they really did do an amazing job opening the place up and improving everything about it. I just hope someone buys it and changes everything. Speaking of buyers, what happened there?
In a plot twist, Audrey and Bristol decided to rent the condo out for six months before selling. Something tells me that means it didn’t sell and they changed everything to get it to sell. But I’m also a cynic.
So they made $9,000 on rent and then finally sold the place at $138,000. That means they made a total profit of $37,280. That’s more than the first expected, but only because of the $9K in rent.
I can’t figure out why this episode wasn’t called Going for the Gold instead of Buyer’s Remorse.

It was shocking, but at the same time it was done well. Anywhere other than Vegas I wouldn’t think it a good idea, but Vegas likes the gilded tackiness. The glitter in the grout…I wonder if it truly stuck, or if it will be rubbing off on the feet of the buyer. All in all, I still find it to be a fun choice of design.
I would like the information on the kitchen backsplash and the tiles (not gold) in the shower please
