Chip Gaines Offers ‘Chipstarter’ Dream Launcher Contest

To help promote his upcoming book, Capital Gaines, Chip Gaines is putting his own fame and fortune to good use again and this time it’s to help someone with a vision to make it a reality. He’s calling it “Chipstarter,” playing off the Kickstarter idea, but they’re careful to note this isn’t a crowdfunding opportunity, it’s a giveaway for one lucky finalist.

Got a great idea? Want to start your own business, help others, or start your own business that helps others? Then you’re in luck, or at least one of you out there will be. You need to put together a short, two-minute video, write down your ideas, and submit it to the Gaines family. And you better do it quick.

The contest is open until October 10th at 10:59 AM CT and here’s what Chip wants you to do:

Writing Capital Gaines got Chip thinking a lot about the various people who were part of the runway for him and his career, and he wants to be that type of inspiration for you…

Devise a plan and write it all down. Film yourself explaining your dream, how much money you’d need to accomplish it, and the specific action points you’d take to get there. Be creative and think outside the box! There is no dream too big!

The Chipstarter FAQ says the finalists will be contacted the same afternoon as the contest closes, so that makes me think they’ll be picking finalists throughout the open process. If I were submitting one then I’d do it sooner than later because spots could be filling up quickly. If you do get picked then you need to be ready to travel to Waco, Texas for a live event.
